Terms of Service
Rules for using SonaSync at conventions, on the floor, and through shared profiles and badges.
Welcome
SonaSync helps convention attendees share profiles, badges, interaction preferences, meetups, and encounter memories for real-world convention weekends.
By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Community Guidelines.
Who can use SonaSync
You must be at least 16 years old to use SonaSync.
You are responsible for the accuracy of your account information and for keeping your login secure.
You may not use SonaSync if you are barred from receiving services under applicable law.
Your account
- Choose a username and profile that represent you honestly.
- Do not impersonate convention staff, security, vendors, creators, or other attendees.
- Do not sell, rent, or transfer your account.
- Notify us if you believe your account was accessed without permission.
Convention conduct
SonaSync is built for real convention spaces. Your online choices should match how you behave on the floor.
- Respect interaction states, boundaries, and accessibility preferences shown on profiles and badges.
- Use meetups and discovery tools for good-faith social planning, not harassment or spam.
- Do not use SonaSync to coordinate unsafe, illegal, or non-consensual activity.
- Follow venue rules and staff directions even when your profile says you are open to interaction.
Your content
You keep ownership of photos and text you upload. You grant SonaSync a limited license to host, display, and process that content so the service works (profiles, badges, galleries, meetups, and encounter snapshots).
You are responsible for everything you post. Content must follow our Community Guidelines.
Prohibited behavior
- Harassment, threats, stalking, or repeated unwanted contact.
- Hate, discrimination, or content targeting protected groups.
- Sexual, fetish, graphic, gore, or shock imagery anywhere on the platform.
- Non-consensual photography or sharing private attendee information (doxxing, hotel rooms, exact locations).
- Fake credentials, scam links, malware, or attempts to break or scrape the service.
- Using encounter or scan tools to pressure, track, or intimidate someone.
Moderation
We may review reports, remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines.
Moderation is safety-focused and convention-aware. We aim to be fair and explain restrictions when we can.
You can appeal or ask questions by contacting support through channels we publish on the site.
Convention catalog
SonaSync offers a searchable list of conventions to help attendees plan weekends. We do not own, operate, or run those events.
The catalog currently lists conventions in the USA and Canada only. We do not have overseas convention info yet.
Catalog entries (names, dates, locations, links, and tags) are manually researched and updated on a best-effort basis. Information can change at any time during the year.
Always confirm registration, scheduling, and policies on each convention's official website. If our listing conflicts with an organizer's site, follow the official source.
SonaSync is not partnered with conventions in the catalog unless we publish a named partnership. A listing does not imply endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation.
Platform limitations
SonaSync does not run conventions and is not responsible for venue safety, third-party links, or offline interactions between attendees.
Profiles, statuses, and badges are self-reported. We do not guarantee accuracy.
The service is provided as-is to the extent allowed by law. Use your judgment on the floor.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the product grows. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date.
Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
